Our History
Meals on Wheels started in 1970, and is a nonprofit community service organization operated by more than 1,400 volunteers, funded by charitable contributions and supported by many congregations, civic groups and local businesses.
Our Mission
Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa provides nutritious meals and friendly, caring contact to the elderly and disabled homebound in Tulsa and surrounding areas.
Supporting the homebound improves their health while maintaining their independence, dignity, and well-being.
The main goal is to help elderly and disabled homebound to remain in their homes for as long as possible.

What We Do
Meals on Wheels operates in virtually every community in America through a network of more than 5,000 independently-run local programs. While each program's services and operations may vary based on the needs and resources of its community, they are all committed to helping their homebound neighbors live healthier lives in their homes.
Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa (MOWMT) galvanizes the resources of Tulsa community organizations, businesses, donors, sponsors and more than 1,400 volunteers. At the core of the Meals on Wheels service is a nutritous meal, companionship and a watchful eye on the health and safety of our seniors.
Adequate nutrition is necessary for health, functionality and the ability to remain independent. Healthy eating can increase mental acuity, resistance to illness and disease, energy levels, immune system strength, recuperation speed, and the ability to manage chronic health problems. Meals on Wheels ensures that seniors have access to adequate nutrition even when family support, mobility and resources are lacking.
Your partnership with Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa ensures that we can change and save lives. No person should go hungry or be alone.

Too many seniors in Oklahoma are left behind, alone and hungry, struggling to stay independent and healthy.
Seniors who receive daily-delivered meals experience the greatest improvements in health and quality of life.
